Cri/oFlex®: eight lines on a 0.3 mm flex

Delft Circuits' superconducting flex cabling carries qubit control and readout, bias and signal lines from room temperature to the coldest stage, with filtering and attenuation built into the flex. Supplied in ASEAN by Paeonia Bloch.

General properties

Cri/oFlex® at a glance

As published by Delft Circuits.

  • Channels per flex 8
  • Thickness 0.3 mm
  • Materials Polyimide + Ag / NbTi
  • Line type Stripline
  • Impedance 50 Ω
  • Frequency range DC – 18 GHz
  • Bend radius 5 mm
  • Microwave loss, NbTi 1.5 dB/m at 6 GHz
  • Contact resistance < 10 mΩ

Filtering in the flex, not in the fridge

Attenuators, low-pass filters and IR filters are integrated into the flex itself rather than added as separate components on each plate. Delft builds attenuation from –5 dB unit cells, low-pass filters commonly at 1, 8 or 12 GHz, and IR filters with a slope of –1 or –1.5 dB/GHz. Fewer discrete parts means fewer connections; Delft Circuits puts it as ten times fewer points of failure.

Readout and pump lines

For readout, Delft Circuits combines its own return and pump lines with selected third-party active and isolating components; the pump line is a slight modification of the microwave drive line. The exact chain depends on your amplifier and isolator choice, so we configure it with Delft for each system.

Cri/oFlex® questions

What frequency range does Cri/oFlex® cover?

DC to 18 GHz, on 50 Ω stripline.

Silver or NbTi?

NbTi is superconducting at cryogenic temperatures and is the low-loss, low-heat option for the cold stages (1.5 dB/m at 6 GHz). Silver is available too. The right mix depends on the stage and the line; we configure it with Delft Circuits.

Will it fit my cryostat?

Cri/oFlex® is delivered as complete I/O systems for standard vacuum ports (Ø108 mm, ISO-K63, KF40, KF25). Tell us the cryostat and port and we will confirm the fit before quoting. See I/O systems.

Datasheet

Request the Cri/oFlex® datasheet

An engineer will send Delft Circuits' current datasheet, usually within one business day.

We use your details to send the datasheet and follow up on your enquiry. Corporate email required.

How many lines do you need?

Tell us the line types, counts and cryostat. We will come back with a Cri/oFlex® configuration and quotation.
