T-Type Optical: a 5 K cryostat built around the light path

An optical 5 K cryostat purpose-built for trapped-ion quantum computing R&D: closed-cycle cooling, metal-sealed XHV vacuum, vibration decoupling and 360° free-beam access. Supplied and supported in ASEAN by Paeonia Bloch.

What it combines

The four elements Kiutra puts in one system.

5 K cooling

Closed-cycle cooling to 5 K: no liquid cryogens to handle.

XHV vacuum

Metal-sealed extreme-high vacuum, the environment trapped ions need.

Vibration decoupling

The cold head is decoupled from the experiment.

360° free-beam access

Optical access all the way around the trap.

Made for the optical table, or the rack

The T-Type Optical can sit on a standard optical table, and Kiutra notes that its compact dimensions allow it to be integrated into a standard 19-inch rack. Integrated RF and DC wiring for trap operation is included, with space for cryoelectronics.

A fast trap-exchange option uses a dedicated, hermetically sealed vacuum chamber that connects through a thermal interface and can be detached and baked separately, so a new trap does not mean breaking the main system's vacuum.

The viewport

Free-beam access is the reason this system exists: lasers address the ions directly rather than through fibre feedthroughs. Kiutra does not publish window counts, vibration figures or dimensions on its website, so we request them for your configuration and include them with the quotation.

T-Type Optical questions

What temperature does the T-Type Optical reach?

It is a 5 K system, cooled by a closed-cycle cryocooler. For sub-kelvin work, see the L-Type Rapid.

Who is it for?

Kiutra built it for trapped-ion quantum computing R&D. The combination of 5 K, XHV vacuum and free-beam optical access also suits other optical experiments at 5 K; tell us yours and we will check the fit with Kiutra.

Can the trap be exchanged without venting the system?

With the fast trap-exchange option, the trap sits in its own sealed vacuum chamber that connects through a thermal interface and can be detached and baked separately.

Datasheet

Request the T-Type Optical datasheet

An engineer will send Kiutra's current datasheet, usually within one business day.

We use your details to send the datasheet and follow up on your enquiry. Corporate email required.

Setting up a trapped-ion lab?

Tell us the trap, the wavelengths and the access you need. We will come back with a configuration and quotation.
